Executive Committee The Executive Committee is comprised of the board of director's officers as well as the chair from each committee. Trail CommitteeThis standing committee is central to the work of the Council, with responsibility for general oversight of trail completion progress, and for reviewing trail planning, acquisition, construction, and maintenance. It also reviews budgets and expenditures, including the allocation of park bond funds. The Trail Committee meets ten times a year on the second Tuesday of the month. The committee strives to include a representative from each County Committee, and to include hikers, bikers, and equestrians.
County CommitteesIn all nine counties, Ridge Trail success depends upon the cultivation of strong support at all levels. County priorities, processes, and resources differ widely. For example, in Napa and Sonoma counties, Council volunteers are working with agency partners and other environmental organizations to produce the first comprehensive countywide trail for outdoor recreation plans. In other counties with well-established master plans, Ridge Trail efforts focus on connecting and upgrading existing trails while building support for additional acquisitions of public parks and open space.
